TRAILS & GROOMING UPDATE

Tuesday, December 14, 2021

Well, we are not quite there yet. But closer.

Mark went out this morning, like the superstar he is, and groomed Clearwater Main Trail for skate only. He was unable to set classic track while also working to shape the trail, which is necessary in this early season while we are building the base for our future winter fun.

Kjell is going to head out soon to set a classic track with the sled & ginzu. If you are skiing on Clearwater, you do so at your own risk. We do not yet have attendants in the kiosks as the full network is not open. Please also note that the Nelson Nordic Ski Team will be skiing on Clearwater from 4:30 to 6 pm this evening.

Busk is getting close to being ready, and we have been packing in there, but it still requires a couple more significant snowfalls before we will be able to groom it.

Apex is still very soft underneath, though we are looking at colder temperatures in the forecast so hopefully all the low-lying trails will freeze up this week.

Unfortunately, there is no more significant snowfall in the forecast until Thursday. If that materializes, we will likely groom again Thursday night or Friday morning.

Thanks for your understanding. We will continue to update you on our progress.

We will have volunteers at Gerick Cycle & Ski in Nelson again tomorrow (Wednesday) from 11 am to 5 pm if you missed last week and want to pick up your pass or sticker.
