Opening Day is this Saturday, December 16, 2023!

We have early season conditions on our trails therefore some trails are likely to remain closed.

Here is the low down…or should I say snow down:)

Snow is in the forecast over the next few days which will help all the trails, especially the Apex trail head which is showing dirty patches at the start as you head to the Cottonwood trail (Please note that our Apex snowcam is not live as we are doing some work in and around the cat barn. We hope to have this up and running soon).

Clearwater is is in good condition and set for classic and skate.
Busk/Euphrates on the rail grade is in good condition too.
We have some issues around the Euphrates cabin and this will remain closed.
Cottonwood on the rail grade is in good condition all the way down to the lake.

We will be grooming the night before opening day, stay tuned for our Saturday, early morning grooming report for a full update of the trail conditions.

Busk Kiosk will be open to help you get your pass 2023/24 stickers or with your day pass purchases. If you need to have a yearly pass made up or wish to sign up for your membership pop over to the Apex Kiosk and Dave will help you out.

Cansi Level 11 Course

Jan 10 – Jan 13 all-day

This course enables NNSC to energize our Adult Programs with Volunteer CANSI Instructors!

NNSC will help pay for this course when you volunteer as a coach for our programs.

CANSI XC Level II

This is a four-day course for XC ski instructors with some instruction experience. It will prepare you for teaching a variety of skiing manoeuvres to novice skiers using CANSI’s teaching methodology. You will learn how to apply the methodology and technical concepts to assess and develop novice skiers who are looking for improved technique or more efficiency in their skiing.

Why people take this course:

To expand their range of teaching skills;
To become more skilled at analyzing skiers and offering strategies for skill improvement;
To gain expertise in order to handle more challenging teaching situations and more advanced skiers;
To obtain a promotion or pay raise at a club or ski area’s ski school.
