Free Rollerski Clinic – November 6

Highly accomplished skier, Olympic coach, and maker of the only US-based ski pole company, Andy Liebner will lead a free Rollerskiing Clinic to improve technique and increase the effectiveness of dryland training.  Click Here to see more about the instructor and the clinic.

The clinic is an opportunity to learn rollerski skills, and to try out a rollerski specific ski pole designed and manufactured by Andy and the United States Ski Pole Company.

Where: Selkirk College 10th St Campus – upper parking lot
When:  Sunday, November 6

10:00am: Track Attack (youth skiers)
12:00pm: Junior Racers and NNSC Members

To Participate:

Bring your own rollerskis  (rollerblades work as well).
You can also borrow rollerskis provided by Andy but there is a limited supply and they are on a first come first serve basis – as long as the Track Attack or Junior Racers aren’t using the rollerskis that belong to the team, club members are welcome to borrow them

This is the third step in the NCCP coach education program.  Coaches are taught about developmental age, physical literacy, team building, making ethical decisions, athletic components (aerobic fitness, speed, etc.), nutrition, how to design their own sport program, adventure-based activities (year-round), roller-skiing and planning a practice.

The CCI (L2T) program provides tools and develops skills that a coach can use to:

  1. Create a fun, team-oriented environment that will motivate children to achieve their personal goals in sport and develop a lifelong interest in the fitness and health benefits of cross-country skiing
  2.  Deliver a well-rounded sport program with an emphasis on skill development to children nine to 12 years of age (the L2T stage of development).

This course is subsidized thanks to the support of Cross Country BC, viaSport and PacificSport Columbia Basin as part of Coaches Week in BC!
