January 4th Trails Update

TRAIL CONDITIONS UPDATE
January 4th, 2019

+2 degrees overnight with rain . Sadly we didn’t receive the forecast accumulation overnight.

All main trails except Clearwater have been groomed as of 7:50am. Current temp is +2 degrees. We did not have favourable conditions for optimal grooming last night. There are also several tree branches with debris down on trails which will be cleaned up this morning.

  • Clearwater: Grooming for classic and skate in progress
  • Apex: Classic/Skate – Fair
  • Night Loop: Classic/Skate – Fair
  • Cottonwood, Cottonwood loop and Field loop: Classic/Skate – Fair (Caution: tree down on Cottonwood rail line)
  • Busk: Classic/Skate – Fair
  • Busk Connector: Classic/Skate – Fair
  • Camp Busk Loop: Classic/Skate – Fair
  • Euphrates: Classic/Skate – Fair

January 3rd Trails Update

TRAIL CONDITIONS UPDATE

-4 degrees overnight with 2-3cm new snow. We didn’t receive the forecast accumulation overnight. 5-10cm of snow is still forecast for today.
 
The Husky is back in operation setting both skate lane and classic track.
 
All main trails have been groomed as of 9:15am. Current temp is 0 degrees.
 
  • Clearwater: Groomed and track set to 4.5km Classic/Skate – Excellent
  • Clearwater cabin loop: Classic – Fair /Skate – Excellent
  •  Apex: Classic/Skate – Excellent (1cm accumulation received since grooming)
  • Night Loop: Classic – Good/Skate – Excellent (1cm accumulation received since grooming)
  • Cottonwood, Cottonwood loop and Field loop: Classic/Skate – Excellent (1cm accumulation received since grooming)
  • Busk: Classic/Skate – Excellent
  • Camp Busk Loop: Classic/Skate – Excellent
  • Euphrates: Classic/Skate – Excellent

January 2nd Trails Update

-4 degrees overnight with no new snow. We have new skate lane grooming at 6:30am today with a temperature of -5 degrees. The classic track that was set yesterday remains in good condition.
 
The required parts for the Husky have arrived and repairs to our primary grooming machine will commence today!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Thank you for your patience with our web and Facebook updates as ‘all hands are on deck’ to complete daily grooming without use of the Husky. The parts for the Husky are en- route and our primary groomer should be back in service by the weekend.
 
The NNSC snowphone (250-354-4292) continues to be updated in a timely fashion by Lisa. Please call the snowphone for the latest trail conditions until our main machine is operational and early morning web updates can resume.
 
Trail status:
 
-5 degrees overnight with trace amounts of new snow. New skate lane grooming and classic tracksetting was completed by 10:00am today with a temperature of -4 degrees.
 
  • Clearwater and first hill Bypass : Classic- Good/Skate grooming is Excellent to 4.5km. The skate lane above 4.5km was not groomed as it remains in good condition this morning.
  • Apex: Classic-Good/Skate – Excellent
  • Night Loop: Classic-Good/Skate – Excellent
  • Cottonwood, Cottonwood loop and Field loop: Classic-Good/Skate – Excellent
  •  Busk and Euphrates: Classic-Good/Skate – Excellent
