Clearwater Challenge!

Once again this year, Nelson Nordic Ski Club is thrilled to be hosting the final races in the Teck Kootenay Cup Race Series!
On February 25 and 26, join us for the Teck Kootenay Cup, a fun community race event with skate sprints one day and a longer classic race the next. All levels and abilities, ages 4 to 85, are welcome. No experience required!
With the race taking place this weekend, please take note of where you can park and ski:
On Saturday, February 25, racing will take place at Apex. If you are not part of the race, please ski and park on the Busk/Clearwater side until racing is finished mid-afternoon. The Apex trails and parking lot will be busy with racers all morning. The Stadium and Night Loop will be closed except for racing.
If you wish to ski the Apex and Cottonwood Rail Grade, it will remain open, but please park at Busk and ski over, or you could also park at Cottonwood Lake.
On Sunday morning, February 26,Busk, Euphrates and Clearwater trails will all be closed for the races. Unless you are part of the races, please park and ski on the Apex side on Sunday morning. We thank you for your cooperation and we will open Busk, Euphrates and Clearwater trails in the afternoon, after racing is completed.
Join us for a beautiful ski by moonlight (and Tiki torches!) to the Euphrates Cabin. We’ll have an outdoor bonfire, hot apple cider and plenty of good vibes!
The cabin will be open. Please be sure to bring your own mug for cider, as well as a headlamp.
The route will be partially illuminated with Tiki torches back from the cabin along the Rail Trail.
