JOB OPPORTUNITY: School Outreach Program Coordinator

Nelson Nordic Ski Club is seeking an experienced coordinator to lead its School Outreach Program, which provides children in primary and middle schools with an affordable, positive outdoor experience through the introduction of basic cross-country skiing skills in a fun environment. The program serves more than 800 School District 8 students annually, with sessions running four days per week from early January to mid-March.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for program planning, set-up and operation, including hiring and supervising staff, program marketing and promotion, coordinating events, and communicating directly with schools to ensure the program is fully subscribed. Ensuring compliance with the Club’s Covid-19 safety plan and Return to Sport plan, the school district’s pandemic protocols and other physical distancing requirements will be a key component of the position this season.

  • Advocate for and active participant in the sport of Nordic skiing
  • Nordic Ski coaching experience an asset
  • Proven excellence working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated personnel management skills and attention to detail
  • Self- motivated and organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication and public relations skills.
