Just learning to cross country ski, need a tune up on your technique, or just want to feel more comfortable on different terrain and become more proficient at skiing? Join our instructors for group adult learn to ski lesson series in classic or skate skiing at various ability levels.
Qualified Nordic ski instructors will teach up to eight students per course in four (or more) one-hour courses in Classic Ski or Skate Ski techniques. Using an inclusive and student-centred approach, instructors will teach the principals of balance, coordination, propulsion and direction change on flat to gentle uphill terrain.
Minimum class size is 4 people in order to run the sessions. Maximum is 8 people, so don’t delay and SIGN-UP NOW.
Don’t have Classic or Skate skis and boots? No problem, our friends at Gerick Cycle and Ski will give you a fair deal on your rental package for your lessons when you rent Nordic skis and boots from them.

EVENING ADULT GROUP LESSONS
SKATE & CLASSIC TECHNIQUE
Beginner and Intermediate Classic and Skate Ski lessons will run again on Tuesday evenings at 6pm.

SATURDAY MORNING SKATE LESSONS
SKATE ONLY
Skate Ski lessons for beginners on Saturday mornings at 10.30am.

WOMEN’S LONG DISTANCE Skate Ski Group
Women Only, Six-Week Session, SKATE ONLY
Intermediate to advanced Skate Ski Sessions on Wednesday mornings at 9am.
Prerequisite: Intermediate to advanced skier (not newbies). Fitness level that allows you to skate ski continuously for 30 minutes, familiarity with offset and one skate techniques.
Dates: January 14, 21, 28 and February 4, 11, 18
Price: 190$ + applicable trail fees (+tax) for 6 sessions.

If you are a woman into skate skiing and would like to get better at skiing more efficiently or get more kilometres in, now is your chance to do so in a committed, positive and supported environment. We will be offering a 6 week program designed to give you all you need for skiing between 10 to 30 kms more comfortably. Maybe you want to sign up for a loppet and get some more tips or just have a consistent training group to advance with week by week. Your instructor will be with you for 2 hours every session to work on technique as well as skiing longer distances with you at variable speeds.

Private Lessons
For a 60 minute private or semi-private lessons, please contact adultprograms@nelsonnordicski.ca with your request (name, phone, technique, number of people, ability level, date and preferred time) and we will put it out to our instructors for availability.

“Never Ever” Lesson
We also offer a “Never Ever” lesson for people who are brand new to the sport. Running 80 minutes, this lesson will cover the basics of balance, coordination, propulsion and braking, as well as an intro to climbing (herringbone) and descending (snowplow) on short hills.
Price: One person: $80 (+tax)
Price: Two people: $100 (+tax)
Price: Three or more people: $40/person (+tax)
