GOING TO THE DOGS

For years, we have been getting requests to open a dog-friendly cross-country ski trail on which you can ski with your four-legged canine friends. We are happy to announce that the 1.5km section of Rail Trail from the highway by Cottonwood Lake to our network boundary is now groomed and trackset for both classic and skate skiing — with your dogs!

This section of the Rail Trail is a public access trail, which we will be keeping groomed and trackset this season in partnership with the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK).

Dogs are allowed on this 1.5km section of the Rail Trail only! The RDCK manages and maintains a now expanded parking area at Cottonwood Lake from which to access this trail. There is an orange gate across the Rail Trail (pictured) that clearly marks the end of the dog-friendly trail.

As usual, dogs are not allowed past the orange gate on the Rail Trail toward Apex and, also as usual, Club fees must be paid beyond this point.
