TRAILS & GROOMING UPDATE

Saturday, January 15, 2022

Conditions as of 7am are zero degrees Celsius and wet snow is falling. Temperatures should remain steady around zero today with wet snow continuing until late afternoon.

Thanks to Graham for grooming in challenging conditions. Main trails have been refreshed up Clearwater and are in good condition for classic and skate. You may find the trails at lower elevation (i.e., Busk Euphrates main trails and Apex/Cottonwood) in slightly better shape today. There has been some thawing and freezing beyond 2km on Clearwater that made grooming challenging up there last night. Grooming should be wrapped up by 7:30am.

Etiquette tip: A good time to remind everyone that the downhill skier on Clearwater (and elsewhere) has the right of way. Either in the classic tracks or otherwise. Part of the Cross-Country Responsibility Code.

Our pre-registered skills development workshop is taking place at Apex from 10-12 this morning.

We are also looking forward to our Moonlit Ski this evening at Busk from 6-9 pm! Bring your own mug and a headlamp and join us for hot apple cider and an outdoor fire at Euphrates A-Frame. A fundraiser for our Nelson Nordic Track Attack and Junior Racers ski team! Members ski by donation. Non-members $5!
