Nelson Nordic Ski Club offers FUN programs for children aged 4-18. We strive to provide high quality programming that work on your child’s FUNdamental skills.
We have programs for both competitive and recreational skiers to provide a well-rounded sport for life program following the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
The Nelson Nordic Ski Club has adopted the Safe Sport Policy for its programs and facilities. We are committed to ensure that all sport participants can participate and flourish at our club free from harassment, abuse, discrimination, and other forms of maltreatment. Fall Dryland Training
Sept 18 – Dec 2025 open to Level 4, Track Attack & Junior Racers. Get ready for ski season while building strength, agility, and team spirit!
- Roller skiing & coordination drills
- Fun games & speed challenges
- Flexibility, cardio & fitness
- Lots of laughs with friends
Winter On-Snow Sessions
Jan 4 – Mar 8, 2026
- Sundays, 10:00–11:30 AM (arrive by 9:45 AM)
- Apex Lodge
- Ages 4–18 (grouped by level)
Jackrabbits Level 3 – 4 also have Thursdays (4:30–6:00 PM). This is optional for Level 3.
Track Attack & Junior Racers (Tuesday & Thursdays (4:30–6:00 PM) Sundays (10:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Programs by Age
Bunnies (Ages 4–5)
Playful introduction to skiing & active fun.
- Focus: balance & basic skills.
- Parent/Guardian supported.
$10 sessions $100 Early Bird / $110 Regular
Jackrabbits (Ages 6–9)
Learn through fun & games in 4 progressive levels.
- Silly warm-ups, obstacle courses, fun group skis
- Achievement booklet for every skier
- Special events: Ski Orienteering & Racing Rocks Jamboree
$ level 1-2: $110/$116 (10 sessions)
$ Level 3-4: $158/$168 (20 sessions)
(Thursdays are an optional practice for Jackrabbits level 3)
Track Attack (Ages 9–12)
Adventures + racing basics = confidence & fun!
- Fall dryland: roller skiing, hikes, team games
- Winter: 3 practices per week (Tue, Thu, Sun)
- Opportunities to race locally & provincially

Junior Racers (Ages 12–18)
For youth who want to ski faster, train harder & grow as a team.
- Up to 3 weekly on-snow practices
- Individualized training plan from head coach
- Race opportunities regionally, provincially, nationally

We want every child to ski! Families can apply for support:
- JumpStart – funding for sport registration fees
- KidSport BC – confidential grants up to $500/year
Parent/Guardian Volunteers
Our ski club thrives because families pitch in! Every parent/guardian helps in some way:
- Coaching (training provided, no experience needed!)
- Hot chocolate & snack helpers
- Event/race day organizers
- Fundraising or parent helpers
Bonus: Free coaching courses for parents who volunteer coach!
