Kal Tire Sale On Now!

The Club member’s coupon is for a $100 discount valid for ANY set of Nokian tires, including All-Weathers and 3-Seasons (not just winter tires), so if your “summer” tires are getting worn, now is a great time to upgrade.

Look for the coupon in our annual magazine delivered in early September, or simply use the e-version above.  The coupon is valid until Sep 30, just in time for the Oct 1 BC highways deadline… but don’t wait until the last minute.  Can we suggest a calendar reminder in your phone?

To add some fun, the 6 clubs that redeem the most coupons at their local Kal shop(s), on a per-member basis, will win $2000, $1500, $1000, $700, $500, and $300 for their programs.  (Minimum of 10 coupons for a club to be eligible.)

Fun Facts:  Did you know that Nokian invented the winter tire? And is the only tire manufacturer in the world with its own permanent winter tire testing facility?  And that Nokian is from Finland, one of the world’s great cross country ski nations?  And that Kal Tire is the exclusive retailer of Nokian tires in Canada?

Our sport’s partnership with Kal Tire is a great fit.  Kal is a born & bred BC company (started in Vernon in 1953), is very community minded, has stores in almost every club location, and as we know, cross country skiers put on more miles in harsher winter driving conditions than most.  Please join us in thanking Kal Tire for supporting our growing “sport for life”!

THANK YOU everyone as we gear up for another exciting season.  In the face of declining sport and physical activity in Canada, cross country skiing in BC is bucking the trend!

Run Like a Mother Delivers Another Big Win for Our Community!

We’re thrilled to share that Run Like a Mother has once again stepped up in a big way during their 2025 community event! The day was packed with energy, laughter, and a whole lot of heart—raising vital funds for local organizations across our town.

Thanks to a generous $3,000 donation from our incredible partners at RLAM, we at the Nelson Nordic Ski Club are able to continue fueling dreams and promoting healthy, active lifestyles through our youth and community Nordic programs. From cross-country skiing to snowshoeing, we’re proud to offer inclusive, accessible opportunities for all ages and abilities.

A HUGE thank you goes out to the RLAM team and every participant who made this event such a success. Your support means the world to us and the community we serve. Together, we’re creating positive change—one snowy trail at a time!
