Trails and Grooming Update

March 22, 2026

Good Morning,

As of 5:58am the temperature is -4c. It will be sunny today, with a high of +8c.

Clearwater is being groomed at the moment and should include Moose loop again. Busk West and Euphrates will be next. The grooming should mitigate some of the issues with late season freeze and thaw, but just be observant for icy or rough patches. the first half kilometre of Busk is thin, and not beautiful, but once you are over the bridge it is quite good all the way to the cabin. Apex will remain closed.

Today will be the last day of Kiosk operations. It has been a great season, even with the wonky warm weather. It is always great to see all the familiar faces and interact with all of you. My team of wonderful volunteers and staff that serve you, deserve huge amounts of credit, for making member and visitor experience at the front end a positive experience. We will be grooming until it is no longer feasible, and I will continue the reports until then. The groomers are the unseen wizards, that are the heart of the Nordic operation, moving snow and patching things back together, during these challenging season’s. Nelson Nordic kept running this season, when many clubs had to close. I am in awe of the groomers and their dedication, working away when we are asleep, to provide us with the best skiing experience. Thanks to the grooming team!
