Good morning,
Conditions at our club as of 7am are a hair south of zero at -.2c with no new snow overnight. mid day temperatures should be just a bit above zero, with a mix of sun and cloud and some light flurries through the day.
Graham is grooming this morning and he has finished Clearwater and all its loops and reset the tracks which he says are looking much better. Busk/Euphrates is also finished and looking good. Please use caution if skiing the Busk Connector from Clearwater this morning as it is ungroomed and a bit icy. Graham is just heading over to Apex to refresh the night loop and Cottonwood. Thanks Graham.
In 1884 at the age of 22 Fridtjof Nansen wanted to enter the Huseby ski jump competition in Oslo. the only problem was he was working as a curator for the local museum in Bergan. Showing the determination he was to display in later years as one of the most renowned arctic explorers, he took a leave from his work, and apart from a short train ride at either end, he skied for six days and 150miles, through the rugged mountains with his only companion his Irish setter Flink. This was to be his last competition he entered as he moved on to exploration. Four years later he was the first person to ski across Greenland.
