Thursday Night Ski Socials

Thursday night adult drop-in social skis begin this week! Bring your headlamp!

Meet at Apex at 5:45pm to pay any fees, skiing starts at 6 pm with certified CANSI instructors leading the group, offering the odd tip along the way. Bring some tea and snacks, and socialize in the Apex Hut around the fire afterwards.

Help us build our Nordic ski community. Come for a ski, have a tea, chat for a while, get out of the house on a weeknight. And build your skills while you’re at it.🙂

Adult Programs to get you sliding & gliding

We have a number of different fun, social ways for you to ski with friends while improving your technical skills!

THURSDAY NIGHT ADULT SOCIAL SKI

New this year, we are offering a social drop-in ski on Thursday nights. These evenings will be organized as a social ski but will not involve a formal lesson format. Instead, this will be a group ski led by certified CANSI instructors who may offer some technique tips along the way. We plan to have an instructor for skate and classic leading the group each week.

If you’re interested in joining us on Thursday nights, please fill out our brief survey (takes two minutes, tops).

Join us on Thursday nights at 6 p.m., starting January 9th, and meeting at the Apex trailhead. No pre-registration required, though there will be a $5 drop-in fee for all who attend and trail fees apply for non-members.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to pay any fees, sign waivers (once for the season) and get your skis on. Remember to bring a headlamp (we will be leaving the lit Night Loop) and your own skis, boots and poles. We have no rental gear on site. If you need to rent gear, please visit our friends at Gericks in downtown Nelson.

April 16, 2023

Good Morning,

At 7:40am it is +1c at the Kiosks with just below 0c starting 3km up Clearwater. Early morning is a mix of sun and cloud, looking more on the cloudy side, changing to full cloud and chance of precipitation. Late morning temperatures will peak at +8 and start to cool off towards afternoon. It will be near zero by evening with flurries.

Grooming is complete for this morning with Clearwater including all loops refreshed and Busk/Euphrates minus East Busk, also refreshed.

Trails & Grooming Update

Good morning! Grooming is underway this morning, with temperatures of -2C at Busk trailhead, and -4C at the top of Clearwater.

Clearwater network has been groomed and the groomer is currently working on Busk Euphrates. Grooming should be finished up around 7am.

On the basis of the current forecast we will likely groom again tomorrow morning, our last for this season. Enjoy your last weekend of groomed trails at Nelson Nordic!
